A hurricane is coming here tonight. There are no evacuations for my zip code, so I'm staying here with my canned food and pointlessly taped windows. I think the kiddo and I will have a sleepover in the closet.

I decided to stay in my apartment rather than being stuck at grandmother's house for a probable two or so days of electricity-less family drama dooooom. My Dad is furious, but I just can't see how my moving less than a mile is going to be any safer.

Here's to hoping my oh so wise and reasonable decision doesn't come back to bite me in the ass.

Anyway, I'll be updating later when it's all over and/or I get the jitters waiting and need to type at people.

I hope things all went OK! I can't blame you for wanting to stay where you are - if there's no particular reason their house should be safer than yours, I'm sure it's easier on your sanity not to be cooped up with too many people in too small a space.
