Hm. This seems to be going around.

Reply to this post by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.

[livejournal.com profile] jaiden_s gave me these:

1) long hair
2) ren faires
3) wraeththu
4) music
5) midnight

Long hair--Long hair makes me happy. Cutting hair really, really, really freaks me out. I'm sure there's some deep seated psychological reason for this, but whatever. My hair is ridiculously long. I've been known to accidentally sit on it.

Ren faires--Renaissance fairs are home and career all rolled into one--the one place I not only feel like I belong, but also feel useful and good for something. This is because I'm a freak a completely unsuited for regular life.

Wraeththu--Pretty hermaphrodites with attitude--what's not to love?

Music--I'm not much of a music person. Um. I sing Janis Joplin songs when I drive? Really loudly. Oh, and I'm a sucker for band boys. My highschool sweetheart played bass in a heavy metal band, and they were pretty good if you like that sort of thing (they even opened for Korn back in the day). All of his bandmates were sexy walking around on legs, so that was a bonus. Also, getting into the clubs for free didn't suck. Now I'm married to a man with a voice that hits you somewhere around the womb. Seriously, if there was a Don Juan the Musical, he would sing the lead. He serenaded me in Sephardic the night we met, and though sometimes he drives me crazy with his 70s rock and obscure country songs, he puts up with my punk and ska when I'm cleaning the house, so...win? WIN.

Midnight--Still early. (Again with the freak unsuited for regular life thing.) I always get all sad when Jai pulls a Cinderella at 11.

And these are from [livejournal.com profile] bookofnicodemus:

1) Bobsey Twins :D
2) Texassssss
3) Old people
4) Ocarinas! WHO SAW THAT COMING!
5) High Priestess, LULZ

Bobbsey twins--I'm Fweddie, Books is Flossie, we're twins. This makes sense at three o'clock in the morning. Really, it does.

Texas--I'm a Texas girl, born and raised. (Shush. You have to add that "born and raised" part when you're from Texas; it's practically a rule.) This means that I have a Southern accent when I get tired or excited, and that I'm inordinately proud of the fact that my ancestors lived here back when Texas was a country in its own right. You probably have to be from here to understand why that last thing is so awesome; but trust me, it's so totally awesome.

Old people--I have one of those. My grandma is mean, but I love her anyway. I take care of her so she doesn't have to go to a nursing home.

Ocarinas--The only instrument I can play. Hubbie makes them, I carve designs on them, we sell them at renfairs. People actually give us money for doing this! It's mind boggling.

High priestess--This is a long story. So, back when I first started working at the renaissance fairs, I decided that I needed a pretty circlet to wear with my pretty dresses. I found a few at a shop that sold rocks and jewelry. All of them were shiny silver, but one had three moons in the center--one full and one crescent on either side. I wanted that one so very, very much. The shop girl tried to tell me what the moons meant, but I interrupted her. That was MY circlet. I didn't want to hear a story, I wanted to wear it right away. So I bought it. And I wore it back to the pushcart, and I walked with my nose in the air like a fairytale princess. That's just what you have to do when you wear one of those things. Fun times, right? Uh huh.
The first time someone greeted me with "Blessed Be," I thought nothing of it. This was the renfair; you couldn't swing a broomstick without knocking down somebody of the Wiccan persuasion. The second time it happened, I wondered if there was a witch convention in town. It wasn't until somebody asked me about my coven that I started to wonder what I was missing. Yeah, it turns out that the circlet I bought is part of the regalia for a high priestess. Which means I can't wear it in public without disrespecting a religion. LULZ at my pain.
